Paint the railing to reveal an angry ghost Toad who wants "it" back. There you'll find a Shy Guy who claims he has "it" and jumps off the balcony with "it." The balcony railing will begin to shake. In your investigation you may head to room 203. Return it to him in room 303 and he will go to a ghostly tea party. This is apparently the red bird that the ghost misses so dearly. Suddenly, a Koopa Paratroopa will fly down and enter the cage. Talk to the Toad who was trying to catch the rare red bird and you'll use the cage. Take the cage from him and go outside with it. He misses his bird and cannot rest until the bird comes back. Smack it with your paint hammer and it will become colored as well as a ghost Toad next to it. Go up to the 3rd Floor and head to room 303. ![]() There will be a Toad who is talking about how he is trying to catch a rare red bird. In the lobby if you go directly to the right there is a door outside. Return the book to the ghost in the library and he will peacefully go away. Paint it and then he will give it to you. Now go to room 302 and you'll find a Toad worker who is reading a blank book. Behind that enemy is a large unpainted spot. There will be a Scaredy Rat running around. ![]() Leave the library, go to the elevator in the main lobby, paint it, and then head for the 3rd Floor. The cause is a ghost who is looking for his missing book. In the room to the left of the receptionist desk is a library that always has its books thrown all over. You should try to do them all at the same time rather than completing one at a time. As soon as they reach the Mini Paint Star, they see an airship carrying a giant bucket of red paint that was stolen by the Slurp Guys. After Huey informs Mario of the Big Paint Stars which inhabited the main plaza’s colored fountain he points out towards a red Paint Star on top of the main plaza tower, mistaken it for a BIG Paint Star. After the battle the colors from Huey are used to return Toad to color using Mario’s Paint Hammer. The colors are used to battle the Slurp Guy and two Shy Guys that came to his assistance. Huey then asks Mario to squeeze him into paper form in order to obtain colors from his blood, his sweat, and his tears. Toad gives some Battle cards to Mario and then the Slurp Guy fully drains his colors. A scream is heard and Mario, Huey, and Princess Peach quickly head over to the sound only to find a red Shy Guy with a straw, called a Slurp Guy, draining the color from Toad. Toad then heads off, while Mario and Peach, after activating an emergency mechanism, meet Huey, a mysterious 3D talking paint bucket. Upon arriving, Mario finds a hammer and uses it to reach the town square, that is deserted and full of elements whose colors have been drained. This causes Mario, Peach and another Toad to set sail for Prism Island. The story starts with Princess Peach and Mario receiving a letter from Prism Island, which they find out is a color-drained Toad. Paper Mario: Color Splash is the first of the Paper Mario series to be released on the Wii U.
